    1. Prepare 1 cup fresh green peas
    2. Make ready 1 /2 -3/4 cup paneer pieces

    Matar paneer is a regular dish in Punjabi households. It is ubiquitious dish and goes very well rice, puri and rice. Punjabi Style Matar Paneer Recipe: Cubed and fried paneer chunks, sauteed with peas, green chillies along with a host of spices, tomatoes and ginger garlic paste. Heat the oil in a frying pan over high heat until it's shimmering hot.


    Instructions

    Instructions to make Matar paneer:

    1. Boil fresh green peas with sugar & salt till tender. Strain and keep aside.
    2. On another gas flame,In kadhai add heat 2 tsp oil. Add chopped onion,ginger, chillies, garlic saute for few minutes.
    3. Add chopped tomatoes,dry chillies, cinnamon stick, dhania jeera powder,mix and saute until tomato pieces are tender.
    4. Cool this sauted vegetables and grind it in mixer to make smooth paste.
    5. In same kadhai add & heat 2 tbsp oil, add cummin seeds and bay leaves. As cummin seeds splutter,add grinded Onion Tomato paste. Mix well and saute till oil leaves from the mixture.
    6. Add turmeric powder,red chilli powder salt. Mix well. Add boiled peas and cook for 2 minutes.
    7. Add paneer cubes (you can fry and add). Mix gently. Add 3/4- 1 cup of water. Simmer for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
    8. Serve /Relish Matar-Paneer with Roti/ Paratha/ Naan.
